We had a great night's sleep at Burnhouse Manor. The room was comfortable and cozy, allowing us to unwind and relax after a long day of travel. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that our needs were met throughout our stay. Despite a few minor issues, such as the need for a clean and a fresh coat of paint, the overall state of the hotel was good.

I think the waitresses and waiter at breakfast were very pleasant and it was a nice breakfast area and a nice breakfast. The room was clean and tidy and the iron was very welcome
I had stayed at the hotel 18 yrs previously when the hotel interior was alot newer. Sadly some of the carpets looked worn and some signage was damaged. The bed was also lumpy. We also stayed the night of a university party gathering and the smell of over indulgence the following morning was very evident, although this was nothing the proprietors could rectify directly.

Stayed at this charming hotel with a lovely garden. Enjoyed a delightful meal by the fire, prepared by an award-winning chef. Conveniently located for short breaks.
Nothing like walking through a stale bar to get to my room. No shelf in the bathroom for toiletries.

The hotel was warm and friendly and although there was an issue over the resevation the hotel staff were very helpful in over coming the difficulty.
There was no sky television in any of the rooms including the bar area. This maybe something the hotel could implement.

The cooked English breakfast was fantastic, just enough and cooked to perfection! The staff were very pleasant when they were around! The room we had (# 10) overlooked the front of the hotel and was very nice and comfortable & clean. The bathroom looked new, no bath though, just a shower cubicle.
There weren't any staff around when we arrived. After waiting for 5 minutes my husband went looking for staff so we could check in. This lack of availability of staff was a common occurrence throughout our stay. The staff weren't attentive during our evening meal or at breakfast. A few minor things we noticed within the room that needed attention was the plug sockets were hanging of the wall, and light bulbs needed replacing. And there wasn't a mirror next to a plug socket! How's a person supposed to dry or straighten their hair without a mirror! ;-)

We really enjoyed our stay here, the staff are very friendly and the hotel also accepts dogs. Would definately recommend going for an evening meal here, they have a great selection of cakes which is included in the price of the meal.

On first impressions our room was rather dated. Grouting in bathroom needed to be redone Lacking luxury. However, bed was extremely comfortable Breakfast was very good value for money
Being in the countryside there was a cow dung aroma.
